The automotive marketplace runs on data most people never see: valuation algorithms, condition scores, consumer insights, pricing models, etc. I’ve built these systems at Cox Automotive, and I’m writing about how they work, where they fail, and what’s changing as AI reshapes the industry.

My focus: bringing consistency, transparency, and accuracy to an industry that still has a trust problem.

On AI Coauthoring

I use AI to help write these posts. Not to generate content wholesale, but to refine ideas, challenge assumptions, and work through complex topics. Think of it as having a tireless editor who asks good questions.

The ideas, experiences, and perspectives are mine—25+ years of building data products in automotive. The AI helps me get them out of my head and onto the page more clearly. It’s coauthoring in the truest sense: I’m responsible for what gets published, but I’m not doing it alone.

This approach is becoming standard practice for writers, researchers, and executives who want to share knowledge without hiring a full editorial team. The technology exists. Using it transparently seems more honest than pretending I’m writing everything longhand.

If a post feels useful or insightful, that’s because the underlying thinking is sound. If it doesn’t land, that’s on me. AI assistance doesn’t fix weak ideas.
